Eclectic Ithaca has the best little gourmet brew pub. It's like something you'd see on Guy Fieri's Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. A fun atmosphere with exposed stone walls and local artists' work displayed on the walls. They feature all locally grown/raised foods which I think is awesome. If you go, you must try their home brews. We got a wooden paddle of five different beers from light to dark. The strawberry cream ale is absolutely delicious! We started our food journey with the cheddar and potato fried wontons; so creamy and savory. Already full, I proceeded to order shrimp, andouille, spinach, onions & tomatoes in red pepper-chili cream sauce over cornmeal waffles. It was like a party in my mouth with an explosion of bold flavors and the homemade cornmeal waffles to soak up all of the spices and creaminess of the sauce. So unique, reasonably priced, and worth the experience!

Dano's Heuriger (Seneca Lake, NY):
Best little restaurant in the Finger Lakes! Also, highly rated in Food and Wine magazine.
After the Watkins Glen Wine Festival we headed north to Dano's Heuriger for dinner. It's a unique experience in a modern little building overlooking Seneca Lake. The view is lovely and so is the atmosphere. If you're looking for authentic Viennese food, this is the place to go. Everything is ala carte so it's a little pricier (about $30 pp). I had the wienerschnitzel, my husband and our other guy friend had the large Farmer's Plate (veal shank, pork, dumpling, and knockwurst). It was delicious and a new experience for all of us.
Check it out!
